About Girl & The Abode | 

We are a Lifestyle company that provides a platform for shopping responsibly and creating an authentic, honest and simple home. 

Girl & The Abode was founded in 2014 by  Lauren Kellim & Erin Conklin who were raised with a strong set of values,  knowing what a positive impact a well lived home can provide. In addition to this passion for curating and caring for a home,  their travels across the world have inspired their unique aesthetic, combining Nordic and Japanese styles to create peaceful, simple and harmonious space.  

Our core values are, to be honest, simple and authentic, and this is what guides us in everything we do here at Girl & The Abode. We have built relationships with our artisans and trust in the work they do. We will always strive to be their biggest advocate. To encourage to shop small and support the work these artists do, can change the scene of our world. It all starts somewhere, think and be aware of what you are bringing into your home and life. What you choose to buy and use does actually affect someone somewhere, let it be a positive impact. Let us be intentional about our purchasing and about how we take care of our home.

About | Our Dinners & Chef Josh Kellim 

Chef Josh started down his path toward being a chef over 15 years ago, at a sushi bar in Ventura, Ca. His humble beginnings as a dishwasher lead him to be curious about how dishes were made and how a kitchen was run. Throughout his time working there, he developed the skills necessary to be a successful cook. He poured over cookbooks and staged at some of the top restaurants in our country, including Alinea & Meadowood, before landing a position in Michael MIna’s Los Angles restaurant, XIV. Here, he was part of the opening team. He worked with other top chefs in the La Area, such as Chef Steven Fretz and Chef Jordan Khan, who inspired him to keep learning new techniques and ideas about how food can be created. From here, his love of food and what it does to bring people together has only flourished. He has become passionate about where his food comes from and supporting those who provide it. Chef Josh currently holds a position as Sous Chef at Tydes, Four Seasons Santa Barbara. On his weekends he hosts pop-up dinners with other like-minded chefs.
