Welcome to Girl and the Abode.

Welcome! I’m Lauren, the girl behind this little decorating blog.  Decorating has been my greatest passion since I was a little girl. Here at Girl and the Abode, I hope to inspire you to get your hands dirty and re decorate a room or two! I will feature a few regular columns. In Hotel Interior Inspiration I will share with you well designed boutique hotels around the globe. You can take away many wonderful ideas for decorating your own space. I just added a new column, Design Ed. I will choose some of my favorite rooms with you, and break down why I think they work. My ultimate goal is to inspire you to make your house a home, whether you rent or own!  I live my life as creatively as possible, and always enjoy the simple things in life. Decorating a room, gardening in the back yard, visiting an art museum….to me this is what life is made of.  Not to mention my pretty intense travel bug.

Girl and the Abode is also a Interior Styling and Organizing Business. We transform and organize the spaces in which you live or work. We can take on any task required! Check out our services page for more information.

Personally, in my free time I love flea market shopping, date nights with my husband, craft night with my sister,  coffee hour in the morning, walking my mini dachshund, Lucy,  and last but not least, decorating!

I always strive to be authentic and true to myself. I will strive to carry this over into my blog, with hope of inspiring you to be creative and true to your selves in all aspects of your life as well.

Hi! My name is Erin. I will be a contributing writer here on Girl and the Abode starting next week! I have this intense passion for Organizing. From making spaces functional to helping you manage your time is what I love to do! I am currently starting an organizing business of my own ( partnered up with my sister)  and will be sharing all my tips of the trade with you. I would also love to answer any questions you have on this matter!

One of my favorite hobbies ( I have a few) , is gardening. So you will also get a few articles on this topic from me as well.
